These came compact and rolled up. They expanded very quickly even though it did say it could take up to 24 hours. The covers were separate and went on easily. These are very nice cushions with Sunbrella fabric. I bought these for chairs on a screened porch. They are a lovely shade of blue and are 3.5 " high, and firm, so I don't think they'll lose their shape. The only negative is that I miscalculated the size. I should have gotten them an inch deeper.
