I’ve been looking for one with kind of measurements and with some adjustments to the structure (for our needs and wants) this has been great. The instructions were pictures which I thought were a challenge, and a few pieces were cracked.. I used glue and packing tape for repair. But not with removing a star. I skipped the braces ( first steps so I could put it together in the house ) when my husband and I could assemble this outdoors I did end up replacing some of the upper parts with the same wire as the bottom. I purchased at tractor supply then replaced the two doors with just wire ( a good stapler is needed.) The big door at the bottom I added an extra lock so it gives me the access needed for “just in case” my cats would run in if I shake the treat jar. I got two pieces of strapping for the top to support the top by the roof and one for the center just for additional support. I am able to use power tools but I didn’t want to come up with the big design so honestly this is great! Overall this catio is great. It was a little hard to build just because the parts were missing their stickers to identify them. I was able to figure it out and build it myself in about 3 hours total. The patio gets a little hot as it’s metal. So I added some greenery to provide some shade and privacy. My cats are a little skittish. I like that the catio has multiple shelves. I took off the hammocks because, again, my cats are skittish. The option to take off a piece is great since I have a window door for the cats to come I. And out of the house at their leisure. I had to add some shims because my concrete is at an angle to drain water. But that has nothing to do with the catio. I added some catnip at the bottom. It’s doing nicely. I am thinking of also adding some real grass at the bottom so my cats can roll on it. I have two cats. If of them is in there constantly. The other one is still deciding if she likes it. This catio is great, it only lost a star because it was a little difficult to build, it’s gets a little hotter than I would like (fixed with greenery). Ive been using this for a few weeks and so far so good. Its been an adjustment for the cats because the motor scares them a little. But theyve come around one by one. The set up was very easy. And the app to control it works well. I like that I can monitor how much theyre using the box. Clean up has been a breeze which Ive never been able to say before with 4 cats. Good size for our 2 cats. Wood is very lightweight but it does sturdy up when attached to the house. I did paint all wood parts with our house color and painted the wire black to make it more see through. Added a door handle/knob too. It’s cuter and blends in much better with these touches. Bought this for my sphynx cat who can’t stay outside for long periods of time but I want to let him get some fresh air! Having the solid weatherproof roof helps block any sunlight and keeps him shaded. The size and everything is great because he’s a lounge cat he isn’t super active and really uses this to lay and listen to the birds and get fresh air.
