Just put it together today (by myself, mind you!), so I can’t speak to the quality long term, but it’s perfect for what I need right now. Took me an about 2 hours to put together - lining up the heavy top was a little bit of a struggle, but i got it after a few adjustments. It’s heavier duty partial board, but the coating on it seems like it’ll hold up well. Overall, I really like this set. The table and stools are sturdy, well-made, and look great once assembled—perfect for a small dining space or kitchen. The only downside was that my package included an outdated set of instructions and incorrectmissing hardware, which made assembly frustrating and prevented me from installing the shelf. That said, customer service was excellent and very responsive in working to resolve the issue, which I really appreciated. This island is gorgeous, what a bargain. Almost looks custom built in my kitchen. Very very spacious, beautiful glass doors, ample sitting space to eat or work, and tons of tabletop prep space for serious cooks (main reason why I got it). PS my husband is really good at putting together furniture and it did take him about 6 hours with a power drill and patience for troubleshooting so just be aware it's not for entry level furniture assemblers..
