After burning the inexpensive pots I previously used to make oatmeal each morning, I replaced them with the Cuisinart and the difference is marked. I have not used it on heat higher than the medium setting on my gas stove and I am using only wooden utensils inside the pot. It has cooked beautifully with no hot spots. I have downsized to very few pans and this one is a great smaller choice. Heavy, but not too heavy to handle easily, nice even heat, takes 4 cups of liquid in the narrow base part neatly and then won’t over boil with the wider top but takes additions or stirring easily.
