These are heavier and sturdier than I expected them to be. I have not installed them yet, but the video makes it look simple. It was nice having it all in a kit. I'm not sure the price was any savings. I'm pretty sure it came to a bit more than I feel doing it a la carte would be, but, this way they supply the right stuff up front, so I'm good with it. For some reason, the drain and overflow accessories weren’t compatible with our plumbing system, so we had to swap those out, and I wish deer valley made it easier to find other options that are compatible not only with different plumbing but with different finishes. Aside from shipping issues these tiles are great. They are strong and forgiving of less than desirable walls. Watch the videos and do exactly as they say and installation with be quick and smooth. I used these for my bathtub surround and being 68 doing it alone I was able to do it all myself. I did it in two days mostly because I was hesitant about doing it around the water lines. my plumbing hadn't been touched since at least the 50s and had longer bigger pipes than today. Cutting and drilling out the holes was never a problem. I will say though using a utility knife for anything other than trimming edges is difficult. Luckily I had a small table saw that worked great. Wayfair delivered the item in great packaging, crated in a wooden box with plenty of wrapping inside. The tub arrrived with no damage, and was installed without issue. Moving this tub is not for the faint of heart—it weighs in at more than 300 pounds, and it took three grown men to move it—so plan on help to set it in its permanent location.
