After unintentionally killing two different sets of real plants, I finally gave in and went the artificial route. These faux plants actually look pretty realistic! I had to fluff them up when I took them out of the box and some leaves were shed during the fluffing process, but it wasn’t a significant amount. This item was just right for my needs. Not too much, not too little. I had to cut several inches off the stems to fit the jug I was putting them in, they are fairly tall and would fit great in a large vase. They are plain - that’s what I wanted. They don’t look or feel “real” but I’m not trying to fool anyone here in Arizona that I have real cattails and besides I want them to be permanent. Update to my review. Less than a year later and one spinner won’t spin in the wind at all now though it turns by hand. The other is only spinning on the top. This was exactly what I had in mind for a garden sculpture. It was fairly ready to assemble and put in the ground. It rotates result in the wind and is a much fun to watch as they said in the product description.
