This is a great pergola! I love that it provides an area of shade on my back porch without blocking the sunlight coming into my house completely. The roof itself is light filtering, which is great because it’s not completely blacked out. I love the curtains and mash liner so that I can enclose it if I need to or keep it open. The installation itself was not accurate according to the instruction pamphlet. It only needed two people, but took between six and eight hours to assemble. This was easier to put together than we expected. There were some unexpected things like cutting pieces to size and getting the right bolts to attach to a trex deck. The faster given are for attaching to concrete. Help tip** Make sure that you are attaching the to a straight spot with no slope or else you will need to cut a wood wedge to fill the gap. Turned out nice. Had this professionally installed and mounted the post in concrete blocks to give more stability. The metal pieces itself is lightweight aluminum but when connected together it’s sturdy. Only gripe are the shade connector poles. Their means of connecting could be improved because they slide off & disconnect from one another every now & then but so far holds up well with rain when shade is pulled back. I absolutely love this awning. It’s exactly what I was looking for. It is very well priced and looks very pretty. Sorry for the delayed review, but I did need to hire someone to install it. The assembly and install were a little challenging, even for a master electrician. It wasn't the level of difficulty but rather very vague instructions and more than one incorrect picture. However, we prevailed. Warning: DO NOT remove the tape and zip ties from the arms of the hardware. They are spring-loaded and should not be released until the awning has been hung. Otherwise, it'll be like trying to put a cat in a bucket of water. (we were smart about this) To assemble, have a helper on standby to pull the awning through the roller channel while someone else pushes it. A kid can help with this part. One person can assemble the main hardware. To install the brackets to the home, one person is fine as long as they have the correct drill bits and measure correctly. The brackets are great quality; however, they may not sit flush and level to the wall. We placed 2x2 blocks of wood behind each bracket to fill the empty space and make the install strong and level. To install the awning, you'll want a strong teen or adult to assist. They will need to hold one side of the awning and the hardware while standing on a ladder, as both people insert the hardware into the brackets on the structure.. Anonymous. Fri Aug 28 2026

This pergola is a modern addition that looks sharp attached to my old house. I would have given it five stars. However, it required three professionals and took them four hours to install.
