The top is meant to spin freely when the wind blows it will turn with the wind. So you will always have movement! Yet, the bottom pole is staked in the ground. Quite genius if you ask me! The pole is thick. Strong steel. It’s only two pieces and then the top part that spins and then the spinner. So you do not have these multiple poles bending and twisting. Only the two pieces. And it’s so strong. Not cheaply made! The spinners are beautiful, they were shipped very nicely in the box, separated from each other so they wouldn’t be bent or damaged. I appreciate things like that from a company. This spinner gets so many compliments from my neighbors since it’s in the front yard. I enjoy it. You should get one if you are thinking about it. I have quite a few different solar lights in my little yard, but this one is the best! It only takes a small breeze for the circles to spin, and sometimes they go in opposite directions.
