Both the directions and holes predrilled were fairly easy to assemble. Due to the size it came in 3 sections but once the first was assembled it went much faster. We are pleased with armoire as far as the way it looks but the lack of the 5th star in the rating was simply due to the material in the outer pieces. It was a little bit intimidating when two huge boxes showed up on my doorstep, but it turned out to be pretty easy to assemble and can be easily done by one person.
