On the surface this seems like a great deal: Big solid-core doors for less than $1,000 with hardware included. That isn’t a terrible deal at all, but the description of the product and the installation process is very misleading. It implies that this is basically just a disassembled pre-hung door frame that you simply have to reconnect and install, but there’s A LOT more work that needs to be done for it to actually function properly. The doors come without bore holes for the handles and locks and do not have cutouts for the hinges. The instructions (pictures included) are super simple and make it seem like you only need a few basic tools to get the job done. I would up having to buy a lot more tools to complete the project, because I needed to install things like the handles and the locks for the door to work, as I would assume most of us would. It’s also important to check your doors to make sure everything is decent quality. Mine had significant gaps around the glass plate trims that I had to fill and dents from shipping (pictures included). Customer service from the manufacturer is only kind of helpful. While they respond within one business day, they only offered to send me a touch-up kit vs. new doors since they said shipping damage didn’t impact the functionality of the pieces. I wasn't thrilled with this solution since it didn't address the poor packaging. Finally, make sure you’re getting what you ordered. The first time I purchased from this company I bought 10-lite clear glass doors and received one of those and one barn door. They didn’t have any more 10-lite doors in stock, so I had to return the entire order. Overall I’m ok with the finished product, but if I knew that it would take this much time and effort I probably would have spent more money to buy something that was easier to install. I would also recommend to the manufacturer to provide much more detailed instructions so people fully understand what they need to install the doors properly. These doors were perfect. Packaged SO well and good quality. They are very heavy and feel solid. However the description says solid wood… they definitely are not. When I notched out the hinges it appeared to have an mdf core, at least where the hinges go. But that doesn’t bother me. They feel solid and heavy! This French Door is a classic style, it offers a warm and aesthetical feel, joining rooms together and enlarging them, also the French Door allows for the natural light to join in and bring the warmth and coziness of a Sunday morning to any room inside your home. Being made from solid wood and tempered glass grants extra protection for you and your loved ones. This door is fully finished and should not be painted or stained in any way to prevent damage to the product, it is made for interior use only. There is a Structural trimming allowance of 1/4 in on each side and 1 in on the top and the bottom. Please note that trimming will damage the finish, also any edge that was trimmed should be sealed, stained, or painted to prevent moisture from entering the wood. Please refer to our installation guide on how to trim or paint.
