Bought as an office piece. Looks great, fine to play on despite the wobble. From a few other comments, I was concerned that the light pieces would not be different enough in color than the dark, but that is not the case — there is an easy contrast between the two. . Richard. I very much like the chess board, the squares are sufficiently large and the rows and columns are identified with index letters and numbers in the margins of the board. The original (damaged) board was being given as a gift, so I was glad that I examined it before giving it to our grandson. This high quality folding chess set features an 18" square folding board with inlaid wood and hand carved pieces with a 3" tall King. The interior is fully lined with felt to protect the pieces when in transit. This set is a beautiful option for the chess player on the move!

Love It! Just the right size for me for my purposes - and the pieces are detailed and not "rough" looking carvings - which are not to my tastes - they are plastic but look very much like ivory (the cream colored) and wooden (the brown ones). They do have some magnetism - and they are clear for a beginner since the tallest is the king, and so forth - as it seems standard regulation chess pieces to orient a beginner are best to do. The set is labelled for children to adults.. Barbara. Houston, Texas. Thu Mar 09 2023

The chess pieces are well made however the chess board is made out of some type of thin sheet metal. The board is poorly made with stains n scratches on it. The chess board is glued into the bass unit which is made out of wood. The bass is good. The problem is solely the chess board. I would not recommend this chess set. Anonymous. Morris Plains, NJ.
