First things first, the frame does seem to be constructed of wood but the 'wood grain' finish is a veneer. If you're hoping for a raw wood look this may not be the frame you want. That being said, it is a very well-constructed frame and I was so thrilled to get it in a size that's otherwise difficult to find (6"x6"). Acrylic really does have superior clarity when compared to glass - it will scratch much more easily, of course, but so long as the frame isn't in a high-traffic spot that really shouldn't be an issue.. Incredibly impressed with the quality finish of these! Little pricey but that’s typical with teak it makes such an impact. I bought (4) pieces for this shower modified them to fit nicely together. Just need to sand the edges by hand to smooth out the cuts for no splinters. Especially helpful for a shallow sloped shower floor that has a little bit of standing water on full blast.
