Just two negatives - I wish I could remove the nubs (that join the units together) on the top unit, and the company sticker on the unit was a bear to get off - I don’t know why companies put them on the unit like that! Well, this is exactly what I wanted. I'm very disappointed in the woodgrain "look", and the fact that some of it was peeling off the particle board as I was trying to put it together. Also, the directions are extremely poor! They don't show front/back, or any of that. IT was very confusing and difficult to put together. It has "a b c d e f g", et cetera on all of the pieces listed in the catalog, but the only things that were marked on the items to put together was a and b. Very disappointing! I was looking for solid wood bookcases but didnt want to spend a fortune. I came across these and thought theyd make for an interesting bookcase. Very versatile. Can arrange anyway you want. I split them up on either side of my chair. My own relaxing nook that Ive always wanted. I was even able to turn one around the corner of the wall and stack the top one to maximize space on the top of the bottom ones. Easy to assemble and seem sturdy enough so far. One of the boards came missing the threaded inserts for the screws but the company promptly sent me a replacement. I added shelf baskets to maximize the space even more (I have too many books) and it worked out great. I need to get more baskets and then Ill be able to fit all my books really well.. Jaime. The bookcase itself is very nice, but some holes didn't line up when putting it together. Also the top portion and the bottom portion do not line up flush across the front. They are offset from each other. I did not see anything explaining that the pegs that hold the shelves are made of plastic.
