This was easier to put together than we expected. There were some unexpected things like cutting pieces to size and getting the right bolts to attach to a trex deck. The faster given are for attaching to concrete. Help tip** Make sure that you are attaching the to a straight spot with no slope or else you will need to cut a wood wedge to fill the gap. Sturdy and well made, instructions were fairly clear and with a one man assembly expect an all day project, but with 2 people who are fairly handy should be a breeze. It is very nice and more sturdy that I thought it would be. We didn’t bolt it to the deck because we didn’t want to drill into Trex. But we did bolt it to the house which worked good. Nice Pergola It’s solid but a little lower than I had envisioned. The front has a shallow gutter with ends open. I’m a trying to figure out how to hang a gutter. It’s very hard to drill. I was nervous at first, because the photos show the posts and headers as multiple pieces. However, we have had it standing in our deck for a few months now, and it holds up very well to rain and strong winds. It sagged in the middle at first, but when screwed in place to the deck, the header straightens right up. The brackets are heavy duty metal, fastened through pre-drilled holes in the treated wood. This is a great pergola! I love that it provides an area of shade on my back porch without blocking the sunlight coming into my house completely. The roof itself is light filtering, which is great because it’s not completely blacked out. I love the curtains and mash liner so that I can enclose it if I need to or keep it open. The installation itself was not accurate according to the instruction pamphlet. It only needed two people, but took between six and eight hours to assemble. Lots of pieces and time in this but it was worth it. its nice that you can open the louvers to let sun in when you want it.
