The corduroy fabric is incredibly soft and cozy, and the couch feels substantial without looking bulky. The edges of the each sofa modules include pre‑drilled holes with metal fixtures that lock the sections together securely and prevent separation. This is a useful design choice however, applying the same connection system to the ottomans would have made alternative sectional layouts much more stable and practical. Assembly took about 20 minutes, and the cushions arrived compressed, so they needed a little time to fully expand. The included clips let you connect the sections together or leave them separate if you prefer. I separated everything, cushions, ottoman base etc, before starting assembly. The fabric has a slightly coarser texture, but it's still soft to the touch and feels durable. The seat cushions are very firm, offering plenty of support instead of a sink-in feel. The back cushions are not attached—they simply rest against the back of the frame. They stay in place while you're sitting, but when you get up, they can tip or fall over since there's no Velcro or attachment system holding them in place. One feature I really like is the ottoman with hidden storage. It's a great place to keep blankets tucked away but still within easy reach, which helps keep the room looking neat without sacrificing convenience. My four-month-old kittens have already claimed it as one of their favorite places to lounge, climb, and nap, and it's holding up very well to their daily adventures. The reason I'm giving it four stars is because it sits much lower to the ground than I expected. I'm impressed with the quality, the sturdy construction, the storage, and how easy it was to assemble. This sectional is pretty great for the price in comparison with department store couches it ranks along with much more expensive sectionals. I would say the firmness is a medium firm. Not a super soft feel or not a cloud couch feel either. The chenille fabric is very good quality and the black is a true deep black not a charcoal like other brands models. I like the size and different configurations available. I also like that all the cushions have velcro to attach them in place. The rounded edges of the cushions give it a perfect relaxed feel.
