The distressed look is achieved by hand with attention to detail. As a result, no two beams are the same and your beam will be one-of-a-kind. Dimensions may vary slightly from selected, due to the nature of the wood and the time effect on it. We use pine boards for our distressed mantels. The final product might appear a bit lighter or darker because of the lighting and nature of the wood.

These rustic barn beam fireplace mantels are made from solid rough-sawn pine timbers. Each barn beam mantel is meticulously hand-sanded to preserve the saw marks and finished with our custom antique oak stain. Our antique oak stain gives these timbers a darker chocolate brown/espresso color. These barn beam mantels are Not Reclaimed but rather offered as an alternative to avoid common issues found with reclaimed material. These modern barn beam timbers provide the same rustic appeal as traditional reclaimed barn beam mantels but offer the security of insect and mold-free wood.

Arrived a day late but was well packed. Laid out in a way that the top pieces are the ones you need to assemble first. No digging for the next piece. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. The firebox was less than we hoped for. The flames were not of high quality like we've had on a different electric fireplace we had, and it seems like it consists of a bulb inside a spinning drum to get the effect, which would be OK, but the spinning drum makes more noise than you'd expect and detracts from the whole effect. Summary: The mantel is awesome. The firebox, much less than awesome. Wish I could replace just the firebox with something better. It arrived nicely packed, but I took one star away as it did not come with the 2 inch wood screws needed to do its install! It also did not come with instructions for installation. This meant searching online for instructions and having to go get the screws needed for the install. It’s beautiful and we love it. It didn’t come with hardware to attach to the bed frame, but it was easy enough to attach once we had the hardware. We had read on other reviews it did not come with the hardware so we were aware ahead of time. We still loved the look of this enough to purchase it anyway. I bought this a year ago and can say that it was very easy to install. I am by no means a major DIY person but it was simple enough to take the bracket, press it against the wall, make sure it was level and mark off the holes to predrill. The color of the stain and paint can vary due to the variation of the wood. Some Mantels do have cracks in the front of the mantel, which makes each mantel unique.

This beam is constructed out of ¾” thick Aspen wood and is 6 1/2" tall. You choose the length and depth. Each piece of wood is unique and will have more or less character/knots than the other. It is designed to look like a solid beam without weight. Easy to install utilizing a French cleat mounting bracket which is included. Screws are not included. You will need to purchase 3" screws for the application you will be attaching the bracket. Corbels will increase the total height of the beam to 13". The corbels have been pre-drilled and include screws. You will need to attach the corbels to the beam upon receipt. Wood is considered a combustible material. Heat clearances must be adhered to. If installing over a fireplace, check your local building codes and the manufacturer's instructions for your specific fireplace insert or stove.
