This product imparts a greater gloss than Marmoleum has out of the box. I'd call it satin. We like the shine. Since it is a Forbo product it should be the most compatible treatment available. The instructions say it both cleans and shines though it makes sense to thoroughly sweep then clean the floor with mild detergent and water or the Forbo cleaner first. These work very well for preserving food. I have used them for vegetables, sliced meat , and a roast. They send you little plastic domes with the kit , I initially couldn't determine what these were for.
