It was pretty easy to build. I love how long it is. For Bassets I needed a long play area. I plan to plant herb in box planters around the perimeter. Different dog friendly plants and herbs. It will be a sensory thing for them. I did one sections mulch, one artificial turf and the 3rd pavers. While it comes with dog bowl at the door, I plan to attach an automatic water bowl to it. Pieces are all labeled with part number. We laid out all parts in order first, makes it easy to find when assembling. Be careful with screws and bolts, there are not extras of all parts. Use a star bit on drill rather than the cheap wrench they give you. Also need a Phillips screwdriver for small screws on latches. .Metal is sturdy. Directions are quite clear, make sure you follow the order! It is all drawings and is a little confusing sometimes. Took us a good 4 hours to assemble and we are both very versed in construction. The "bars" that run vertical around kennel are round conduit. Using this for poultry? need to add hardware cloth around perimeter. Doors are SHORT, I am 5'5" and have to duck. Whacked my head a few times. Stakes to anchor down are included, we are using longer ones for stability. Also, the roof has bracing just covered by tarp cover then. We are putting wire cloth over whole roof under tarp. To ensure raccoon or any other cannot get on roof and rip through tarp roof. For poultry purposes, not sure if I would buy again. It is way sturdier than the standard chicken wire runs but requires modifications. We are wrapping whole thing in hardware cloth and doors too. Latches are functional but a bit tiny. Pretty good enclosure for our dogs don’t have the roof on due to weather we have had but it also is pretty good quality. I will be interested to see how this holds up when we have to move and then have to rebuild it again. One thing to note is this thing has a ton of pieces so be prepared for it to take a bit to put together but overall fairly simple to put together it’s just a tad flimsy. This kennel is very nice. It was easy to assemble with a perfect amount of fencing. They gave plenty of metal and plastic zip ties. I ended up using some of my own to give me piece of mind that it was extra secure. They even provided plastic covers to go over where the wires crossed on the fence ends, so they could not scratch or poke your animal. I gave it one star off, because the top fit really snug and when it rains the water lays in puddles making the fabric stretch. I will probably do my own alterations to fix this issue.. Diedra. This kennel is massive and my fur baby enjoys it so much. It is very roomy inside for my medium sized pet. The frame is solid steel and sturdy. This is exactly what I needed. Two men put it together for me and it went together quickly. We are very to have a play area for our dog, a great space to work on training too since we live in the woods and fencing would be cost prohibitive. I love the cover since we live in the Pacific Northwest and rain is often in the forecast. We opted to put artificial grass down to prevent a muddy mess. The reason I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because the entire kennel once assembled is actually light, the three of us could lift it easily to move it. The framework is seems sturdy but my helper’s recognized right away that with the winds where I live once the canopy is on it could, and probably would, become airborne, the pegs that come with it may be sufficient for some places but not here. They came up with a solution of 4 large landscaping boulders wired to the frame so it looks good and can still be hosed or blown out easily. I am hopeful that this will give us years of fun.. I really like this run! If you don’t over stretchpull the chicken wire, you can get it nice and taught without waves and sags. I cut the chicken wire in 21 foot lengths, so that there was plenty on the outside bottom for cinder blocks or something to weight everything down. Great Size and Sturdy Chicken Run I’m really happy with this chicken coop run! It’s a great size and gives my chickens plenty of room to move around, scratch, and enjoy being outside. The setup is spacious, and the overall design is exactly what I was looking for. Assembly took some time, but once everything was put together, it was worth it.
