I have never bought a mattress online and was not really sure about it being compressed, rolled up, and in a compact box for shipping. I was pleasantly surprised at how little effort it took to set up once unpacked, and how quickly it took shape all on its own. Wow, they really have perfected these hybrid mattresses to my amazement! It was like any other high end store bought mattress, and just as comfortable to lay on. It has this high density foam and gel infused layers, so you can not feel any springs. There is a spring system though for durability, and they say there are layers of cotton through them keeping it soft and contouring to your body. These independent pocketed springs keep the mattress feeling level throughout and helps with stabilizing motion. I do not know how they do it, but the comfort is top notch, and it even has this cooling technology memory foam on the top of it for moisture control. I never had a black mattress, but with a pad and fitted sheet you can not see through it. It holds up to 800 lbs so no worries about it sagging any time soon. So far, I am very happy with it.
