Wow! This is a great door, very solid and HEAVY! I wasn’t sure if we could use it as a barn door but it came out amazing. It was already primed so we just painted it white. Got this for our new half bath my husband put in our basement so he had to cut some of the bottom off to make it fit vertically but it came out great and looks amazing as a barn door. Our product package contains only one door slab. Hardware kit, door frame, hinges, etc. are not included. The door panel is FULLY assembled, no need to assemble it again. The door can be painted. Before painting, sand the surface with fine sandpaper of 320 mesh or above, and then paint with water-based paint or lacquer for better adhesion.

On the surface this seems like a great deal: Big solid-core doors for less than $1,000 with hardware included. That isn’t a terrible deal at all, but the description of the product and the installation process is very misleading. It implies that this is basically just a disassembled pre-hung door frame that you simply have to reconnect and install, but there’s A LOT more work that needs to be done for it to actually function properly. The doors come without bore holes for the handles and locks and do not have cutouts for the hinges. The instructions (pictures included) are super simple and make it seem like you only need a few basic tools to get the job done. I would up having to buy a lot more tools to complete the project, because I needed to install things like the handles and the locks for the door to work, as I would assume most of us would. It’s also important to check your doors to make sure everything is decent quality. Mine had significant gaps around the glass plate trims that I had to fill and dents from shipping (pictures included). Customer service from the manufacturer is only kind of helpful. While they respond within one business day, they only offered to send me a touch-up kit vs. new doors since they said shipping damage didn’t impact the functionality of the pieces. I wasn't thrilled with this solution since it didn't address the poor packaging. Finally, make sure you’re getting what you ordered. The first time I purchased from this company I bought 10-lite clear glass doors and received one of those and one barn door. They didn’t have any more 10-lite doors in stock, so I had to return the entire order. Overall I’m ok with the finished product, but if I knew that it would take this much time and effort I probably would have spent more money to buy something that was easier to install. I would also recommend to the manufacturer to provide much more detailed instructions so people fully understand what they need to install the doors properly.
