The cover is simple and all cotton which is what was attractive to me. It came quite wrinkled from packaging -like one would expect. It did have a smell of fabric finishing (or whatever) that was too strong for me, so I had to wash it before using. That is when the wrinkles really blossomed! (to be expected with cotton sheeting). The fabric, even after washing, was quite stiff and not too soft, so it could have been better in that respect. I like all the corner ties to hold the duvet in place inside, and I like the zipper closure which is much neater than buttons or snaps.
