Assembly of this bench requires absolutely no tools as it completely snaps together. We did use a soft mallet to tap the pieces in place. It takes two people to hold pieces in place while you’re snapping them. Don’t try to assemble this by yourself. I’m not sure how waterproof it is because I am keeping it under a covered patio. The directions were awful. The parts are labeled, but the lettering was black on black so it took us over 10 minutes just to locate the black lettering on black. I’m having trouble writing this review. I thought for sure I had submitted it twice. Here goes and hopefully number three is a charm. I love the deck box. It’s sleek contemporary sturdy. I appreciate the hydraulic lift, but I have found it important to close it applying the pressure directly in the middle. I have not tested the lock, but I’m grateful for that, as I will be storing some valuable items in it while outside. I lost my large shed last month, so this is a lifesaver for me! It seats 2 to 3 people comfortably. With a sleek design, it would nicely fit behind a sofa, under a stairway or even delineate an area. I plan to place it out on my large patio to store cushions a small tool kit and anything else that needs to get put away to avoid clutter. Only tool needed was a Phillips screw driver. It took less than a half hour to put together. I use it on my screened in porch for my pool supplies. It makes an unsightly mess disappear! It arrived in perfect condition, and very quickly. The only reason that I gave it four stars is that the center of the top is a bit flimsy. It is reinforced with metal, but it doesn't quite strengthen it enough to sit on it, as advertised. I certainly wouldn't use it as a table in my living room, also as advertised. This is very cheap flimsy plastic. It took me forever to get the pieces to fit. I had to whittle down one of the hinges in order to secure the top onto the box. This 260 gallon water resistant resin lockable deck box is HUGE! In a good way! It would be an excellent option for storing patio cushions during rain and snow since it is water resistant. Although we considered that option, we are going to use it for product deliveries to our home to help packages from getting wet and destroyed and or stolen. We will have the lock open and ask the delivery driver to lock it when they leave. It is very durable and was easy to put together. The only problem that I feel could have some attention to are the directions. They are very confusing and not very user friendly. I probably could have put it together a lot quicker without looking at the directions. Besides that, the functionality and integrity of the deck box is truly a five-star.
