File cabinet is a nice piece of furniture but it was a beast to assemble. It took me six hours to assemble it; two of the six hours could have been avoided if I have secured the cabinet to the wall. After assembling the cabinet and placing the folders it was really wobbly, so I decided to secure the cabinet to the wall. The dark purple is a great color - file cabinets are fine for the price point. One of the two I ordered has a sizable dent on one corner. It it was to be in a corner or not viewable from two sides, I would be ok with it. However, it is being used to support wood for a desk in a brand new church office and plain to see. This is an awesome purchase. Very sturdy. Wheels are sturdy and work as expected. I love everything about the finished cabinet. I removed a star because it took almost 3 hours to put together, and that was an experienced handyman that did it. He said it was very involved. The photo showed a height of 24.8" its actually 25.2" which made it not fit under my desk but the specifications shows 26" so should've read that. This is a beautiful piece of office furniture. Looks very good. Took about 3 hours to put together. If you are not good with reading instructions fully get help. It's somewhat strong, but I would only use it for hanging file folders. The bottoms of the draws are made with some sort of hardboard and the weight is not sufficient to hold much of anything else in my opinion. They are just slid into slots on the bottom. The lock is weak but this is for my home so I don't need the lock. It perfectly matches my desk. Otherwise it's very good fit for my home office.. Judy. Boston. Sun May 10 2026
