I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. It might not be the sleekest appliance, nor a chef’s darling like the cast iron skillet or sous vide cooker, but we’d be lying if we said we didn’t find a great use for this decade’s must-have kitchen tool. We like the wide, square-shaped basked of the 6.34 quart Plus, which can accommodate batches of fries or wings without overcrowding. The air circulation and power have provided the best results for almost every food we've tried, including tricky coconut shrimp and Brussels sprouts.
