I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. This is a cute item, for sure, but the price is too high for the level of quality. Silo top was misshapen and would not attach without adjustments, and the holes in the legs were not large enough to allow the bolts to pass through for assembly. I ended up needing to drill larger holes on each leg or there would have been no way to actually attach them. Came in this morning. I ran it all day to make sure it was stable. My temp and humidity were correct. I had some eggs to put in for trial run. I was so excited with how nice it is I went to the auction and got more eggs so I could fill her up. So far I have seen it rotating the eggs and it seems gentle. The only issue I had was setting up the pump for the humidity. You only need to cut one piece of tube to go into the water bottle and follow the diagram for how to wind the tube. It kept popping off for me but I realized you wrap it and then put the cover on it and the cover will hold that piece in place. It’s not hard I just made it hard in my mind. You do hear it running compared to my still air incubator but it’s like a refrigerator if you listen for it you will hear it. Turning the eggs makes noise but not enough to be a concern. I am just sensitive to noise. I love it and can not wait to see how my hatch does.. Anonymous. Sat Apr 13 2024
