I purchased this cute mechanical Sewing machine after my Singer machine of 45 years died. I am amazed at how streamlined it is! Instead of threading the top thread through 12 or more screw eyes, I only need to do three things. I prefer to use a written instruction book to learn and I found the Janome one to be alright for ME, a seasoned sewer, but it would probably be to brief and very confusing for a newbie. It is just the right size for my needs. Honestly I have not had a chance to have it hooked up since it was delivered just before the Holidays. Mine is only hooked up to the cold water line but if you connect it to a tap that has hot and cold water you could mix or use hot water. I personally think it washes as well with cold. This is a great little washer. The process is tedious having to start and manually switch between steps but the spin dryer is great. You can tell it gets most of the water out by how light the clothes come out of the spin dryer. Even with the summer humidity, everything has finished air drying overnight - not something that was guaranteed with my full sized washer. It holds more laundry than I expected. So far each load has been just enough to fit on my drying rack. I think it'll fit the queen sized sheets but not the quilt or comforter. Like other reviewers, I've been using my detachable showerhead to fill the washing tub so I can't say if the provided tubing works. The built in lint trap has not been trapping lint so I've used a mesh drain catcher and that's been working fine. The men that delivered were super nice people. The help put the case at my door. The case was part broken and missing one part in the bottom. Later we found the bigger machine is battered in the top. And the sensor of the little one doesn't work. We didn't test yet the filling because we are waiting for the rolls. We have videos as well. The machine is beautiful and very well done.
