This is a really elegant set of high-quality dishes. Creamy white with a brilliant sheen and weighty enough to feel substantial. They're beautiful to look at and to touch. Artesano plates sport only a miter cut edge, which makes the edge both wider and more interesting than a rounded edge. It also makes the plates look heavier than they actually are. The rice bowls are 1/4" thick, matching the plate edge and are perfectly plain. The pasta bowl is slightly thinner and has the same mitered edge. Like a diamond solitaire, this design is absolutely beautiful in its simplicity. TWO YEARS LATER: Still love the dishes, and they remain in perfect condition. Excellent purchase. Why did I choose this? I had bought accent pieces of hand-painted Polish pottery and needed basic service that would complement it, not compete. I couldn't find cream colored pottery that did what I needed, and so I went with porcelain, though the two don't normally pair. Bread pudding, banana bread and brownies for the family and keto versions of these treats for myself. Everything bakes beautifully in this and releases very easily.
