I wish the keister would’ve clearly stated that sand must be used. It states that you can use a combination of sand and water, but does not explicitly say that you cannot use only water. Because of how the weights rest on the ground, water will seep out, after all, the caps that hold the water or sand in or not a tight seal. Other than that, I enjoy the product.. Maria. Just what we needed for our new 12’ x 12’ cantilever umbrella to be able to move it around. Very big and sturdy base that supports the umbrella well. The only issue my husband was worried about was the fact smaller rocks could easily fall out through the large hole screen it comes with in the bottom of the squares. He bought some chicken wire to put over the larger wire in it and now rocks can’t fall through. Easy assembly!. Brenda. TX. Mon Jun 15 2026

I ordered a cantilever umbrella that had a metal X base which couldn't support the weight of the umbrella so I ordered this to hold it in place. It took about $15-20 worth of sand from the local hardware store to fill it up. For me the base is SO bulky though. Perhaps this isn't something that can be avoided due to the nature of the item and the weight it needs to compensate for but it takes up a lot of space so just make sure you plan for that. I put pots of flowers on it to try to blend it into the space. I don't know if it did anything though lol.. Abee. CT. Sat Jul 18 2026
