When the angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she had been chosen to be the mother of the Christ, Mary answered, Here I am, the handmaid of the Lord. The model of humility and obedience, the mother of Jesus in this famous work of art serves as a daily reminder of how hearts, too, are meant to respond to God. Pioneers of Renaissance art, the Della Robbia family artisans elevated the terra cotta art form by marrying it with painting and glazing techniques that emphasize light and ideal beauty. This Design Toscano-exclusive version is cast in quality designer resin to capture detail from Mary's crowning halo to the horns of plenty at her feet. It is then hand painted in light-enhancing glazes including the characteristic Della Robbia blue. Commemorate baptisms, births, anniversaries, weddings, ordinations and other special spiritual occasions with this meaningful statuary collection.

Finished in attractive colors, this open design 12in resin wall cross is an inspiring gift to give at Lent, Easter, or any time. Shows scenes from the Last Supper, Gethsemane, and the open tomb. Comes in a presentation gift box with our poem The Last Supper. Text of poem: He met them in the upper room, though waiting for Him was a tomb, and as a supernatural sign He broke the bread, then drank the wine. I lift this cup to pledge anew, my everlasting love for you. I have a mission to fulfill and take it up of My free will. The next day as He knelt and prayed, He knew that He would be betrayed; and His disciples, one by one, abandoned Him, God's only Son. And yet, he chose to still reveal, through one last supper, one last meal, that He would love them unto death, in faithfulness, till His last breath. Poem by Alda Maria, copyright Dicksons.

This is “Christ is risen” wall cross. Verse card says: Jesus thought of you and me in the garden of Gethsemane. The only time he dreaded that the journey was still ahead. And so he humbly knelt and prayed with God's grace then he obeyed. The lonely road of Calvary was paved with “Thoughts of you and me”. The heavy cross he had to bear, the crown of thorns that he wore, and those who doubted when he died believed that he was glorified. Just as all the scriptures said for “Christ is risen” from the dead.
