Wow!! I love this. I spent two weeks watching YouTube videos on how to drill through tile and was able to install this lovely grab bar in my shower without cracking any tile. I bought a ($$$) Franklin Sensors Stud Finder, located stud placements and SLOWLY drilled Milwaukee carbide bit 1/8" lead holes then 1/4" ones through tile (not through grout lines). Just do the first one-side hole, put screw partway in using level to locate first hole for opposite side. Screw the bar partway in to locate other two holes to drill for each side. Use Silicone to seal well to prevent water from getting behind your screws and behind the outer chrome covers, leaving a small space at the bottom for any drainage behind them.. Margret. Hudson, FL. Perfect for our needs in our new shower remodel, have been looking for this length and love that it’s a slim shelf as well as a grab bar. Haven’t bought the pricey teak tray that is sold separately as the price on that is outrageous for what it is, at almost the price of the bar itself! Too much! But love the modern sleek style of the bar itself, will work great in our standard size 60” width tub shower combo, on back wall. More grab bar is always safest from all my research, so getting the longest one made sense for us. Also adding a shorter vertical one though on side for exiting tub area, those are handy too when getting in or out. Going with another brand for that one. Also this barre while it says it is dark bronze, the one we received passes totally fine as darker & matching our matte black shower fixtures, we are happy with it since the black wasn’t available in this length at the shipping speed we needed, this will work awesome!
