Beautiful piece in my smallish kitchen. Not a heavy looking island in that it is not bulky or space consuming. It is a great size for display, cooling or serving. The lower shelf is great for storage. It is well made and the marble is gorgeous. Several people have seen this and ordered one too. Couldn’t be happier with this. I absolutely love this solid real wood island! You can't beat the price. Well it is real wood, it is a lighter wood. I did have a few small pieces with some splintering defects because of this, but nothing a little wood glue can't fix. Other than that, I didn't have any issues with assembly like what other reviewers noted. I found assembly to be rather easy. The pieces were all numbered, but a lot of the numbers had fallen off in the box or elsewhere. This wasn't a big deal as the instructions have good pictures and I was able to figure out which pieces correlated with which numbers. I researched stores and scoured online suppliers for the perfect item in a nook for my laundry. I started searching in kitchen islands and came across this gem. It’s absolutely beautiful. Very well crafted, solid wood, brightclean white stone top, high quality construction, solid wood. I Really love this. The black is a sharp classic dark tone that pops against the white stone. I assembled it myself, (but could have should have used some help lifting the stone onto the cart. It’s HEAVY.) The counter top came a few days before the rest, well packaged and protected during shipping. The cart was also delivered safely and problem free in a big box.
