All of our Furniture is crafted using northern white cedar. We harvest our cedar locally from its Minnesota location. We even operate our own cedar saw mill that produces the lumber for our furniture! Northern white cedar is extremely light and quite soft, but boasts excellent decay resistance and strength despite these characteristics. For heavily used surfaces, we also offer an optional Armor or Liquid Glass finish to increase its lifespan! Armor finish provides a medium satin sheen, our premium quality, post-catalyzed, alkyd-amino varnish is formulated to offer superior durability, and UV protection. It helps prevent scratching and denting. Liquid Glass finish provides a high gloss sheen, this upgrade finish is made from a two-part epoxy. Equivalent to 50 coats of polyurethane, the finish is tough, yet flexible and not prone to shattering from impact.

The hardwood is then kiln-dried to a precise moisture content ideal for crafting quality furniture. Everything is carefully cut and fitted using traditional joinery methods, building a masterpiece that will last for ages. Over time, the natural color will age, testifying to its genuine hardwood production.CHECKING INFORMATION: Log furniture is subject to the natural process of checking as the wood "seasons" and dries. Checking occurs as wood releases moisture across or through the annual growth rings - it does not affect the structural performance or the integrity of the wood. Varying amounts of checking may occur on any given piece of log furniture and cannot be controlled by the builder. Checking is not an indication of damaged furniture.

Hand carved wood coffee table with metal insert accents on a trestle base

It's a beautiful table, however it came with a number of flaws and multiple significant cracks in the wood. In particular, there is an issue with durability. The finish comes off very easily, and after only a few weeks there are a number of spots on the surface where the stain has come off.. Anonymous. Arlington, VA. Fri Apr 19 2024
