[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This modular design is great. I really love how I can switch up the positioning whenever I want. I can use the desk by itself, with the filing cabinet, the bookshelf, or both. This desk set is made from compressed wood and it is heavy. The black finish has that nice wood grain detail. The set can in three separate boxes and requires assembly. The drawers are spacious, also having a soft close feature preventing loud slams. The assembly was pretty time consuming, it took me several hours to assemble all three pieces. I used a cordless screwdriver, but you really only need a screwdriver to assemble it. I did need help with a couple of pieces, but one person could assemble it alone. The instructions are very easy to follow and all the pieces and screws are numbered. Obsessed with these shelves!!!! When we first purchased them, it said they were on back order, and that it would take 5-6 weeks to ship- but we amazingly had them within a week and a half! Assembly was fairly simple as far as bookcases go, and can be done by one person for 90 of the build though I would recommend having two sets of hands for attaching the top and bottom pieces as they are pretty heavy. The wall-fastening system is super straightforward too, though not entirely necessary in most cases as, again, these shelves have some weight to them.
