Very firm and supports the neck without causing cramping of my neck which is a problem I have had with other travel pillows. I have tried several different ones, even ones I had to blow up myself. Just as stated in the product description the rayon bamboo covering is cooling, soft and so cozy feeling that I kept it around my neck while trying it out sitting on the couch. As stated above my neck can get cramped and stiff, this is due to degenerative arthritis. Sitting at my laptop for periods of time can cause my neck to lock, but this pillow has allowed me to spend a little more time on it. Shouldn't have been so surprised when the description says head and neck support. I can’t wait for my trip in July to try it out on the plane. This pillow is not bulky either and comes in a neat zip up carrying case with a handle. Or you can put it in a carry on easily because it won’t take up a lot of space. Love it.
