I am using it to lock up paint and chemicals to keep out of children’s reach. I was able to assemble in about 10 minutes with no tools needed other than a screw driver to pop out a piece I put in backwards. I bought this cabinet to store some hobby/craft materials that were sitting in plastic tubs in my tiny apartment. The box was very beat up and torn on arrival, and I was afraid the parts would be too, but they were packed well and nothing was missing. Putting it together was a bit of a nightmare. The instructions were all pictures and hard to make out in spots, and I struggled. I called customer service for help and they hooked me up with the manufacturer (Wayfair's CS is better than I expected). They eventually sent me a digital version of the instructions that let me magnify the drawings, but by the time they did so, I'd figured it out. It's MDF that's slightly better quality than a big box store. The back and the drawer bottoms are strong cardboard -- they could be better, honestly. I accidentally put one piece on the wrong end and the cam holes broke; luckily, I had some construction adhesive and was able to fix them (the repairs are on the inside so no one will see). The screw holes for the door handles are countersunk but not deep enough for the screw to poke all the way out, so I had to basically destroy them to get the handles on. Hanging the doors was hard and they're a tiny bit off, but they work. The cabinet is not only big enough to hold all the hobby items but some extra stuff that was in my closet. :) I don't know if it will survive a move, but we'll see. I hope so, since it actually works really well for what I needed and it's the perfect size for the space. Overall, I'm satisfied, but I HIGHLY recommend you have help putting this cabinet together. The top is very heavy once assembled and I still don't know how I managed to get it on by myself. DO NOT use a drill to assemble it -- you will strip the screws and the holes. An electric screwdriver has less RPM (I was cursing myself for not buying one the entire time). It's a little expensive for what it is so wait for it to go on sale like I did. :). Elizabeth . My main issue is the quality and assembly - first of all, whoever designed have not thought about people, assembling it. Sometimes you need to get to a screw in a very weird and inconvenient angle. Second - the alignment of many parts leave a space to improve to say at least. And the main issue - there were missing bottom panels, where the legs need to be screwed in. From the second request I got the parts and... They are missing thread inserts, so I can't screw in the legs. For the (sale) price, these cabinets are not bad. They’re sturdy with adequate capacity, and aesthetically appealing. The doors have about a half inch gap between them when closed which is not ideal though not a deal breaker since these are in the garage. The hardware is solid. I decided on this cabinet because of the positive reviews, and am so glad I did! I purchased two, and they are well built, there was no damage, and assembly was straightforward. My son (who is a licensed builder) put the first one together in 1 hour, and the second in 30 minutes. Using a power tool for the screws made it go quite quickly. My son was quite familiar with these types of hinges so didn’t have any trouble, but there are instructions as to how to adjust these to get proper closure of the doors. Thanks also to Prepac for including extra hardware - I have put together similar items in which much time was wasted looking for similar nails or screws because not enough was included.
