These Garlic Tonga Sculptural Baskets are made entirely of Ilala palm leaves in rural Bulawayo, Zimbabwe by women of the Ndebele tribe. The weaving is a traditional technique that has been passed along from one generation to the next. Women gather to weave and connect with each other under the shade of large trees with their children playing nearby. Each weaver infuses her own touch in these baskets, so each one is unique in pattern and shape - no two are identical, which makes each basket truly one of a kind. Use these gorgeous baskets to decorate any space that needs a warm, handmade touch. Amazing on their own or with dried flowers, stems or branches. The smaller ones can go on tabletops as centerpieces or shelves, while the larger ones look great on the floor in a corner, by a bed or a credenza. They look best in groups of different sizes for a fuller effect. The baskets are measured using a soft tape measure. The tape is run from the center of the base of the basket, around the curve of the bowl, then up the neck. Because of the wide variety of shapes of these baskets, the measurement is a CONTOUR measurement, not a straight LxWxH. Contour in inches: S 12-15M 16-19L 20-23XL 24-27XXL 28-32 Weight: 0. 4 - 1. 73 lbs IMPORTANT! Please review size diagram in order to understand how they are measured. No two shapes are identical.

Waterproof, moisture-proof, and incredibly easy to clean – simply rinse or wipe away any mess. This versatile basket works as both a storage basket and a laundry hamper, fitting perfectly in your bedroom, bathroom, living room, nursery, or home office. Beyond its practical use, it adds a decorative touch that keeps your home tidy and beautiful, hiding clutter while enhancing any space.

This basket is great for storing things you won't use every day! It's really strong so I'm not worried about breakage, the only reason I wouldn't recommend it for high use is that some of the pieces jut out quite a bit and are very sharp, so I have to be careful not to get poked with them. I also would not use it in a kids' room for that reason. But I am using it to store tall bottles of plant nutrients, etc. on a shelf so it works great for my purpose. It has a ton of storage space and the height is great for holding taller items AND for making it look nicer since a lot of the clutter is hidden.. Michelle. Las Vegas, NV. Wed Sep 09 2026

Tonga baskets are woven using the over and under style of weaving and a 16 inch diameter basket can take around 2 weeks to complete. The baskets are finished using a coiled rim with a distinctive herringbone pattern. These baskets are made from all natural and locally harvested materials such as wild grasses, small vines, and palm leaves dyed with tree bark.
