Sturdy. Clean looking. Great built in slot to hold paperwork or art supplies. We like the front smooth edge cut out. Did have difficulty putting desk together at first. The manufacturer sent extra supplies depending on which legs you ordered, which was confusing at first; as the directions are very limited. After studying the directions for an exorbitant amount of time, we finally figured out what we were doing, and the desk came together.
