We are extremely pleased with the cat villa. It was not difficult to assemble; pre-drilled holes were accurately placed, all parts were present and the instructions were clear and thorough. The villa is made out of solid wood and the glass doors hang perfectly. There are multiple levels which are easy for the cats to navigate. I have two cats that use it. One cat is 17 lbs and the other is 10 lbs. They each have a fluffy pad on two of the levels to sleep on. I have placed a full size litter box with high sides on the lowest level. A bowl each of water and dry food are on the platforms. My cats are still getting used to the new routine of spending time in the villa but neither are stressed by being in it and usually are asleep in a short time. Love this little cathouse! My husband and I built a deck to elevate the house for our two stray cats. They haven’t gone inside yet, but have been up on the deck to eat and check out the house. It’s nice. Quality is good not the greatest some parts came dented (wood and cage material) but overall good quality. Sooooo many screws to put together so get your drill ready took three people for us to build but definitely minimum is two. We reinforced the platforms with extra screws and few other areas. I will be moving house next month, and I needed a way to transport two cats at once. They won't fit in a single cat carrier, so I ordered this. It looks like it will do, assuming I can get both cats into it. Pros. It's very roomy. Two adult cats should fit inside it comfortably. It seems pretty sturdy, and it's relatively lightweight. It was reasonably easy to assemble. I have yet to try disassembling it and putting it back in the storage bag it came in. Cons. The front entry to the carrier does not match the photo. In the photo, each side has its own zippered flap, which would allow me to wrestle one cat in, zip it closed, and then maneuver the second one into the other side. However, there is only one wide flap that serves both compartments. I am not sure how I am going to get both cats into the carrier because as soon as I unzip the flap to put the second one in, the first one is going to escape. This is a fairly significant design flaw for a carrier that's meant to hold cats, and the product photo is misleading. The metal rods that provide the structure for the carrier are sturdy, which is good for stability but not great for comfort or protection in case of emergency. If something were to happen that caused the carrier to fall or tip over, the cats could be injured by hitting their heads on those rods. Fortunately, I am not moving very far, and I can drive very carefully, but I will need to put some cushions or folded up towels on the bottom and do my best to cover those metal rods, so the cats are not hurt if they are jostled against them. The carrier has a single long strap and two shorter straps that can be brought together for carrying. It is extremely wide and bulky, so if I tried to use the long strap to carry it over my shoulder, it would sit at a pretty severe angle against my body. Given the metal rod situation mentioned previously, this is not an option. The two shorter straps allow it to be carried at a more level angle, although its size still makes this difficult. Just carrying it empty is awkward; once it has two angry cats in it, it will require even more careful handling. Given its bulk, it would have made more sense to equip it with handles on each side, so it could be carried with both hands in front of me. As I said, it will do for its purpose, assuming I can get both cats into it at the same time. It looks nice and is perfect for what I need! But the screws for the box need to be longer. I had two come out within minutes of putting them in. My two kitties love their new space! We have two 9 months old kitties that we rescued when they were 3 12 weeks old. They are indoor cats but we wanted to give them a safe sanctuary when are not home. I put the structure together myself and it probably would have gone quicker if I had help but I took my time and the instructions were easy enough to follow. The wood is strong enough for indoor but I don’t think it would last long outside in the elements. I didn’t use the roofing material that came with it since I have it inside the house. My feral cat had kittens in this box about 4 months ago and has been sleeping in it at night ever since. She goes underneath to lay in the shade, and also sits on top of the house to get a view. It’s cute watching her teach her kitten how to use it. Whole thing is insulated in the interior and made of wood. The wood will start to split in the weather which hasn’t affected it structurally so far, but if you’re handy it would make sense to cover the exterior with a coat of poly. Love this! Debated about the purchase for a while, but finally went for it, and my cats are in love. Its sturdy and assembly instructions are straight forward. Plenty of room for both of my large cats (about 12-14 lbs each). I added some finer screening around it to keep bugs out (just stapled it to the frame) and created a wood frame that fits inside my window so it can be secured without attaching it to the exterior of my house. Package arrived fast, but the box was completely damaged. All the hardware was scattered inside of the box. Instructions are included which made it easy to assemble. Nice cat house for a smaller pet, only reason I can not rate it a 5 - there is a lot of scratches and chips in the wood. I'm not sure if this was previously return, but def handled before hand..
