Works great! The rug sticks to the pad and the pad sticks to the ground, and the thickness is just enough to make the rug feel more plush without becoming a tripping hazard. We trimmed it down slightly to make it fully fit under the rug so the ends would lay flatter, which I found was easier with heavy duty kitchen shears than standard scissors.. Ratter. Carrollton, TX. The Slip-Stop Rug on the Carpet rug pad is low profile and designed to help combat carpet shift and keep area rugs in place over carpeted floors. Fast and easy to install, you won’t even realize it’s there as it helps prevent dangerous and frustrating bunching and sliding. Don’t let its low profile fool you. Rug on Carpet lives up to its name with a strong, solid construction built using our own adhesive application process. During this process, we coat both sides of a non-woven polyester textile with a special water-based, pressure-sensitive, non-transferable, dry acrylic adhesive. This is how a rug on a carpet achieves maximum gripping power, so you can walk across your area rug. Completely unfold to expose the adhesive side. Place the adhesive side down in the desired location on your carpeted floor. Remove the protective film to expose the alternate adhesive side and place your area rug on top. Proudly made in the USA, we offer a 10-year guarantee with proper use and maintenance. Spot clean with a water-damp sponge and air dry. We use our rug pads in our own homes, and everything we sell is designed with safety and comfort in mind. Don’t let your peace of mind slip away, take your floors back today with a rug on carpet from Slip-Stop.

This rug on carpet pad helped us lay a large rug over our ugly carpet (we rent, so we can’t replace the floors). The rug doesn’t slip around at all, which is what we were worried about. Great pad that makes the thinnest rug feel luxurious! Holds it in place as well, you really get a better rug with a pad versus a rubber mat.. Ks. Minneapolis, MN. Fri Jul 15 2022

Ideal for both hard surfaces and carpets, this thick rug pad adds significant cushion, prevents shifting, promotes the longevity of your rug, and is easily trimmed with scissors to fit underneath any size rug. Made in America.

I bought this 3' x 5' rug pad to try to get my area rug to stop inching it's way across my hall carpet. I received it in the time specified and it was as described on the web site. When I opened it there was no odor coming from the pad. I didn't have to cut it which was nice. After vacuuming both carpets I placed the pad between the carpet and the area rug. I had to look up how to put the pad - felt side down toward the carpet and rubber side against the area rug. A quick set-up sheet would have saved me some time and effort. The pad has added some cushion which makes it nicer to walk on. As for the traveling area rug, it has slowed down and only moves a centimeter or so a day. I'm hoping as the pad grips the carpet more, my area rug will stay where it's supposed to. Overall, it is worth the purchase.. Lynn O. Santa Cruz, CA. Wed Sep 02 2026

Rug pad use is required for all area rugs, in all applications. The rug pad is the foundation for your carpet, responsible for enhancing both comfort and durability. The rug pad is meant to serve as a barrier between the rug and the floor, reducing friction and wear on the rug, as a result of foot traffic. Secondly, the rug pad grips the rug, allowing the rug to lay flat, drape down on the edges, and optimize its visual appearance. The third purpose of a rug pad is to prevent the rug from slipping and bubbling when walked on, to ensure safety. The quality and construction of rug pads are surprisingly very relevant.
