This dining set is a gentle softness.

We had a very difficult time getting the 2 table top halves to separate to reveal the leaf. It turns out, the manufacturer physically **drilled screws** into the bottom of the table closed and there was nothing in the instructions telling us this detail. These "remove" block pieces blend in with the rest of the wood on the bottom of the table. They did stamp "remove," on them but again, these blocks blend into the table and unless you know to look for them, they can easily be missed. The bottom also has some interior damage I'm assuming from transit but it's hidden so I guess not a big deal aesthetic wise, but for integrity, time will tell. It’s really pretty looking dining set. The chairs came first and well packed then the table arrived 3 days later. It’s easy to assemble. I like the idea that I don’t have to take out the leaf extension , just fold and it goes underneath the table. I had a little problem when i opened the box (table) the hardware box was opened, bolts and washers are everywhere. I am very happy with this set. It took an evening to put together (3 hrs) by myself. I am a 69 yr old lady. The only thing I couldn't do by myself was flip the table upright. This is a very heavy, solid wood set. The finish is darker than the picture, which I am glad. Much more dark cherry/ mahogany color than the orangey tone on the website. I thought the chair seats were black but the seat part is a very deep brown. Looks black from afar. The assembly was easy and the directions were clear. We got this table to use as an "outdoor" work table in our garage, and it’s been perfect for our needs. The extendable design is really convenient for larger projects. I love being able to adjust the size depending on how much space we need, and the benches are easily stored underneath to save space. One thing to note is that the box is very heavy when it arrives, but the individual pieces are lightweight and easy to handle during assembly. If you need to move it across floors solo, I recommend just taking the pieces one by one. I definitely couldn't lift the box by myself or build it solo.
