It’s not as deep as I thought it was which is the only reason I’m giving it four stars. It’s great quality otherwise. A great buy!. Aji Mariam. College Park, MD. Thu Sep 28 2023

The wok’s small base flared sides, and wide shape keeps food neatly contained as it's continuously stirred on the stovetop. The work can also be used in the oven for roasting vegetables or cooking large portions. The versatile cookware moves seamlessly from refrigerator to stove-top or oven to table for serving and easier cleanup (no need to dirty multiple dishes).

VERY nice quality. Heavy duty. Easy to use. If put light coating of oil on after every washing it lasts a very long time. Heavy but expected. Lid is great. Sits on gently and covers wok. Also looks nice with wooden lid. Great size also.. Susan. Cochise, AZ. Sun Apr 12 2026

The wok is the simply the best for gourmet cooking. This wok features curved sides with a rounded deep base for stirring and tossing food easily. Perfect for the gas, charcoal or electric grill but can also be used on gas or ceramic stove tops. This wok offers heat retention and provides quick, efficient and even cooking. Do not use in the microwave or clean in the dishwasher. Dry thoroughly right away to prevent rusting and apply a thin coat of oil prior to storing. With first time use, until seasoning is built up, use a little extra oil to prevent foods sticking. Avoid acidic foods like tomatoes, beans and certain sauces until seasoning is well established. Always store in a dry place.

I bought this cast-iron wok for one recipe, barbecue shrimp à la Pascal’s Manale restaurant in New Orleans. It’s hard to find head-on shrimp in Knoxville, so I haven’t made it yet, but boy, am I ready! The size quoted is handle to handle and the bowl is about 14” across. No problem, however. That should be plenty big and much more efficient than an iron skillet the same diameter.. Jonathan. Knoxville, TN. Sat Aug 12 2023

A classic full-size, flat-bottomed wok for stir-frying and sautéing. Aluminized steel combines superb heat conduction with weight and durability, and will never rust. The brushed stainless steel handle provides a secure grip and the helper handle makes it easy to lift, even when sizzling hot.

This wok is exactly what I needed and getting as an “open box” item made it possible for my budget. We eat a lot of stir fried vegetables and I needed a wok that works on an induction range. This heavy duty, very large wok has an extra handle opposite the regular one, making lifting it from the stove easy. Its non-stick surface works well. I believe one could put it into the dishwasher but it is simple to wash since nothing sticks and it’s really too large to fit. So, right product, quality brand, good price equals another Wayfair success story.. Janie. Greenleaf, WI. Fri Jan 30 2026

Staub enameled cast iron cookware is the top choice for chefs and home cooks alike. Rooted in French culinary heritage, Staub's renowned cocottes are timeless pieces, perfect for casual meals or sumptuous suppers. The Essential French Oven with Chistera lid is the latest star in the cast iron collection. Like Staub's signature flat lid, the domed Chistera lid has excellent self-basting properties. Usually, a convex lid causes condensation to fall to the sides. The innovative, Chistera drop-structure lid solves this problem by putting a twist on traditional spikes. Moisture cascades from the whole lid. This continuous basting guarantees delectable roast chicken and braised short ribs. What inspired this original design? Basque pelota players use wicker basket chisteras to scoop up balls and hurl them quickly. Under Staub's new lids, the chistera-shaped curves gather condensation to shower moisture upon the delicious dish that simmers inside.

Beautiful! Expensive but worth it!. Melissa. Columbus, OH. Sat Jan 21 2017

Made in France, is perfect for cooking and serving one or two people a tasty, fresh stir-fry or other culinary creation. The cast iron heats evenly on the base and the sides retain heat and are easy to clean. The glass lid is useful for visibility, containing moisture and preventing splatters.

This is fine I guess. I'm using it on induction, and it just doesn't heat up the way it would on gas. The bottom isn't as flat as a normal induction pan, but it still gets hot enough there. It just doesn't really heat the sides.. Anonymous. Wed Sep 30 2026

Cooking enthusiasts can reveal their hidden cooking talents with this cast iron wok from Staub, as cast iron stores heat wonderfully and releases it steadily and evenly. It is perfect for searing meat and stir-frying vegetables, as well as for gently cooking them. Staub cast iron cookware also lends itself perfectly to braising, stewing and frying. A key feature of a wok is that the rim also heats up, transferring heat to the meat or vegetables when they are tossed and stirred. As these dishes are often fried and cooked very quickly, wok-cooking retains lots of nutrients in the food, above all keeping vegetables deliciously crunchy. Cast iron is also very scratch-resistant and durable. The wok is also extremely easy to clean so that frequent use of this cookware becomes a real pleasure. It is also suitable for use on all types of cooker, including induction hobs. Its 9.5-in width that it can even be popped into the oven when you need to keep something hot. The wok is round and comes in a bright shade of cherry red, sure to enhance every dining table. Serve your food directly from hob to table. As the cast iron releases the stored heat for longer, it is also possible to leave hot food standing on the table for a relaxing and leisurely meal with friends or family.

I always wanted this and was so happy I finally added to my Staub collection... Hye Mi. Duluth, GA. Fri Apr 24 2026
