I love the Duraflame brand and their Electric Fireplace Media Console did NOT disappoint!! There is so much I like about it- the design on the cabinet doors (and their tempered glass!), the bright white finish and faux marble top, the molding along the bottom. It is just beautiful in person. I had another electric fireplace before this, and the flame on this one looks so much more realistic. I love that you can change the settings on the size of the flame, so it can look like a roaring fire all the way down to just glowing embers (5 settings total). It puts off fantastic heat and you can adjust the temperature by several degrees, either in one degree or 5 degree increments. It comes with a remote control and also has a discreet control panel on the unit. It has an option to set a timer for the heat to automatically turn off. As an added bonus, it has a safety plug that prevents overheating. It has a nice storage space with a cable opening in the back for electronic devices (like a soundbar). The cabinet door handles are heavy and quality metal. The cabinets have lots of storage space with adjustable shelves. It's a large piece and heavy, so be prepared to have someone help with the box when it arrives and plan on it taking about 2 1/2 hours to assemble. Arrived a day late but was well packed. Laid out in a way that the top pieces are the ones you need to assemble first. No digging for the next piece. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. The firebox was less than we hoped for. The flames were not of high quality like we've had on a different electric fireplace we had, and it seems like it consists of a bulb inside a spinning drum to get the effect, which would be OK, but the spinning drum makes more noise than you'd expect and detracts from the whole effect. Summary: The mantel is awesome. The firebox, much less than awesome. Wish I could replace just the firebox with something better. The legs attach easily to the header with nuts and bolts. Mitered hanger board assembly is included for easy installation as well as a 3-piece mitered scribe molding set to hide any gaps after installation.
