The mattress came in a manageable sized box. We were able to unbox without anyone getting decapitated. I bought two of these for a pop-up trundle bed for guest use since it claimed to join into a king size bed. That is a different story. These mattress came vacuum-sealed and expanded to almost full size by the time I got the plastic off. The topper is nice material and can be zipped off for easy cleaning. I gave the mattresses about two days to fully expand and was surprised at how firm they are. Most "firm" mattresses are not very firm; however, I weigh just under 200lbs and I sunk in about a half-inch. It is a soft kind of firm, not a hard, cheap couch kind of firm. My wife laid on the top one and she was equally, pleasantly surprised. That says a lot, coming from her, as she has a bad hip and is very particular when it comes to mattresses. The box that the mattress comes in has very simple and very specific instructions on how to open it. One small little cut, and the mattress unrolled itself, and then one more cut, and the mattress filled back up with air and was perfectly full and ready to go in seconds! The mattress was easy to unpack, there is an outer package and the actually mattress is vacuumed sealed with instructions of how to unroll it safely.
