Although it was packaged well, it somehow came with a small dent in the side (see picture). Good basic safe for keeping firearms secure from children I’m satisfied with this safe for what it is. Assembly took approximately two hours, so be prepared to spend some time putting it together. Once assembled, it feels reasonably sturdy and does what I purchased it to do. The electronic lock is a nice convenience and makes accessing the safe much easier than dealing with a traditional key lock. The primary purpose for me is keeping firearms safely secured and out of the hands of curious children, and I believe it accomplishes that well. That said, buyers should have realistic expectations about the level of security this safe provides. It is not a high-security safe designed to withstand a determined thief, and it offers no fire protection whatsoever. I would consider it a good option for basic firearm storage and keeping unauthorized family members from accessing firearms, but I would look at a much heavier and more robust safe if theft or fire protection is a major concern. This gun safe for rifles and pistols is a decent choice to secure your weapons. It does have to be assembled- bunch of pieces. Took about an hour to assemble. It would be easier with 2 people to hold it up while one screws and attches. I gave it a 4 because when we took the door off the battery compartment it broke- pictures attached. Overall it’s ok. I received zero instructions so an estimated 20 minute assembly turned into 2 hours. Each of the pieces are held in with just self-tappets while majority of the holes do not line up. Make sure you have a drill/bits because I cant imagine using the provided screw driver to drive the screws into place. I wouldn't trust this to keep my firearms safe at all. Only weights about 80lbs so easy to maneuver into a closet and secure to wall. The first thing I will say is that this safe is not going to keep a thief out, but it will keep your kids out. All and all its not to bad safe, a little on the flimsy side but again it will keep them out of the hands of children. Some of the screws are very difficult to get in especially if you have large hands like I do. It is also difficult to get the door to latch due to it not being square, refer back to being flimsy.
