we overhauled our master bathroom five years ago and during that renovation, i unwittingly made a design mistake that has haunted me ever since. when our countertop installers asked me where i wanted the faucet hole to be drilled (i already had that gorgeous sink from turkey!) i thought and said, "oh, put it right there..." and that's where they ended up drilling the hole.
what i didn't realize, was most single hole bathroom faucets have a short spout, and by placing the hole where i had, the water out of the faucet barely cleared the edge of the sink.

so not only did the water not hit more center in the sink, it made a huge mess any time you put something under the stream of water (toothbrush, hands...) with water splashing around the base of the faucet on the counter and next to the sink rim.
i think this is the third faucet we've had in the five years since the renovation was finished to try to circumvent this, and i think i've finally found the right one!
this particular faucet is actually for a kitchen sink. the spout is longer, the whole faucet head swivels 360 (not that we'll ever do that) and the on/off handle can be positioned where ever you want it. i chose the very front, so we eliminate/minimize water all over the counter when turning the faucet off. (this was a huge problem with the others and drove me absolutely bonkers with the mess it made!)
even better, i got this off wayfair for $65!!! up until this faucet, all the bathroom fixtures were in venetian bronze, a very dark, english wood metal color. but this antique bronze finish looks perfect with the sink and the teal and bronze tiles that line the shower wall.
as you can see, the water hits practically in the center where the sink drain is. and it's tall enough but not so tall that it obstructs the cabinet door above.

oh, yeah, hubby installed the faucet and the install went well except he had to run down to our local ace hardware as the water line that came with the faucet was kind of short. after getting a longer water line, it got put in place and i verified where i wanted the faucet handle to face. this faucet has a strong asian vibe to it but also works with ottman (moroccan/turkish). i love it! i'm also really enjoying the high spout when it comes to rinsing my mouth out with water when brushing my teeth. again, it's the little things!.
