Its lightweight plastic accents and locking mechanism add everyday functionality. Plus, we love that this tall pet gate helps create a comfortable environment for pets and their families.

This is likely not what many people are using this skate for, but were doing it to help socialize our wonderful new dog with my two cats, one of them is not very dog savvy. When we tried to do this with a normal baby gate, she kept trying to launch herself over it so of course, he wanted to chase her. This was the most affordable option that I could find for something floor to ceiling that would allow them to become more familiar without the potential danger that an unexpected interaction could have caused. Ive been very happy with it. The socialization is going great, and there is no way that my cat can jump over this. Its also sturdier than I expected as the pup still likes to paw at it from time to time, with no issues so far. Its very easy to open and close. This is a great affordable option!. Katherine. Is your furry four-legged friend causing chaos around the house while you’re out? Keep them confined to one room with this must-have pet gate! Crafted from manufactured wood, it features four panels with hinges so it can easily fold up for a simple storage solution when not in use. Plus, it has two support legs so it can stand freely without damaging your walls. And with neutral coloring, it won’t clash with your current color palette.

Attractive and Durable, but Needs Securing I've used this gate since December 2023, and it has held up well. It's attractive, heavy, and true to size, and I really appreciate the height. The included support feet are a nice option, although I don't use them. My main complaint is that my dogs can push the gate to the side unless I secure it with carabiners. With that workaround, it serves its purpose. Overall, I'm happy with its appearance and durability, and I prefer it to a typical utilitarian-looking pet gate.. Sims Family Reviews. Kansas. The Cardinal Gates Step Over Pet Gate is the perfect solution for small pet containment. This freestanding gate has bar spacing's of 2.25” and is designed for small breeds, non-jumpers, and puppies. At 20" tall, this gate is the perfect height for you to step over, yet keeps your pet contained. It is adjustable and able to close off openings from 28" to 51.75”. Multiple 22” extension panels can be added to increase the maximum width of this gate (model SGX, sold separately). It features solid wood construction and is easy to set up with minimal assembly necessary. The included rubber-bottomed feet protect your floors while adding stability. READ ME! I was a little stumped by the assembly of this gate, but once I figured it out (with NO help to the included instructions or video), I really do like it. Upon receipt when you unscrew the two main pieces of the gate, keep an eye out for 4 small square nuts that may fall out of the grooves. After you determine the size needed, these nuts are essential to hold the two gate pieces together. The video and instructions make it seem like you just simply fasten the screws into the grooves on top and bottom. Well, you do, but if you screw only into the grooves - without the square nuts - there is nothing to catch the screws, and thus, you will be unsuccessful. If you are luckier than me, and your nuts don't fall out of the grooves and go missing for a few days, you need to know that the nuts can be moved back and forth inside the grooves depending on the size you want. Use these nuts to secure your screws, and you'll be golden! I have two small dogs (up to 9 pounds each), and I chose this gate because it is adjustable to any size you wish, and it has feet (rather than needing to be secured to a wall). The feet can be placed along the bottom at any desired location (or you can opt not to use them at all). I chose to screw them in the bottom (but you don't need to) because it gave my gate added stability, and seeing how I plan to move the gate to other locations, this way I don't have to worry about the legs falling off during the moves. The feet have rubber pads at the bottom which help them stay in place on the hard floor. If you're looking for a gate where you wish to increase/decrease the size often to let dogs through, this isn't the gate for you as that would be a bit cumbersome with screwing/unscrewing; however, if you want a gate that sits at a certain size and can be stepped over or easily moved, this is perfect! I am 5'4" and can easily step over the gate, but my small dogs cannot get over/through it. I hope this review helps!. Theresa. Sun Prairie, WI. Fri Dec 06 2019

The tension-mount design allows the gate to stay firmly in place with rubber stoppers without damaging wall surfaces. The gate door opens in both directions for ease of movement from room to room. The latched gate handle locks/unlocks easily with one hand. Now your pet can be safe and comfortable in any space with a doorway 32.1"-36” wide. Designed for dogs 8.8 - 44 lbs. Extension to add 4” of width sold separately. Before installation: At first glance, your gate will have a “V-shaped” gap between the gate door and the mainframe. This is not a defect. This gap will close properly as you tighten the adjuster knobs. The adjuster knobs are designed to control the entire setup of the gate once the adjuster bolts and extensions are set in place. This is part of the overall design of the tension-mount gate.

This versatile pet gate is perfect for doorways, stairways, and more—keeping your pets safely contained wherever you need them.

I do love the design of this gate. It’s so tall that my kitties can’t go over, around, through, or under. I even like the way it opens to let me go through, without having to negotiate a bottom rail to trip on. It locks securely and was easily assembled and carefully packed. It’s attractive and exceptionally useful. My only concerns: My doorway was not true. It apparently is a few millimeters wider near the top than bottom, so the center doesn’t meet the same way in the top as bottom. This is not the fault of the gate, so I did not deduct a star. My other concern is that there’s a lot of plastic parts. I wish all the components were made of metal. However, since I had no problem with the metal parts during the month I’ve used it, no deducted star there, either.. Janice. Durant, OK. Wed Jun 24 2026

This freestanding pet gate helps section out a particular room so that your furry friend doesn't get into too much mischief when you're not at home. The frame and posts are made from wood, while black metal rails bring an understated look that blends in with their surroundings. One of the panels acts as a door with a lock bar installed to keep it even more secure. And the best part? No assembly is required. Note: This gate is made for dogs.
