The set of replacement bar stools was in perfect condition! I love the chairs, but I will admit that I have to get used to the fact that they do not automatically return to their original position when you stand up! However, the first set of chairs I received were obviously returned by a previous customer; they had been partially unwrapped with hardware removed and loose in the box, and there was a large dent in the back of one of the chairs. In addition, the stain on both seats was not applied correctly and visibly damaged. Although the baselegs I received aren’t the same brassy color I was expecting them to be, these are very well made bar stools. They did take around 30 minutes to assemble each one. These are great and very comfortable! If I had one criticism it would be to ignore the instructions when it says to tighten the legs to the foot rail to 100%. Definitely put all screws in (legs to seat and legs to foot rail) at 50%, then align and tighten the legs to the seat to 100% BEFORE you tighten the foot rail..otherwise you will not be able to align the chair legs in a way that minimizes the gaps between the parts, creating pinch points for fingers when scooting in your chair.
