The morning sunlight illuminates the genteel beauty of the artist's sister, Violet, in this canvas that epitomized his bravura brushstroke style. Called the leading portrait painter of his generation, Sargent was highly pursued by wealthy patrons and, at the height of his fame in the 1890s, completed as many as 14 commissioned works each year. Though he spent much time abroad, he declined a British knighthood and chose to retain his American citizenship. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of color, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand. The replica 4.375" wide, European style, bright gold-toned, ribbed frame is cast in quality designer resin with an acanthus leaf and floret border that draws the eye toward the beautiful image. Proudly printed and framed in the USA using imported molding.
Bought the smallest size of this painting along with another seven small paintings - all for the living room and I'm very happy with my purchase. It was packed very well, the frame is beautiful and antique and the painting itself is lovely. It goes very well with the traditional decor of my living room. The package arrived almost two weeks before the scheduled arrival date. I'm very happy with this purchase and would definitely buy from this website again.. Happyownerofpainting. Northville, Mi, USA.
