My 10 year old has the top bunk and my 2 year old has the bottom.. while it is a beautiful bed, I will say that when my 10 year old at 110 pounds moves around you can definitely feel movement and wobbling from below, but there is a steel bar that runs underneath the top bunk that reassures me that it is secure. It took us a about 3 hours to build, just make sure that the headboard and footboard are in the right facing position bc we had to redo ours. I also will note that the headboard and footboard slats dont fit in snuggly and are wobbly. Pine wood is a softer wood and I am already aware of some dings and dents but am still happy that this is not an MDF product so should hope last still for some years. The bunk bed looks very nice and the beige finish, curved guardrail, storage drawers, shelves, and overall design are attractive. It also has a practical layout and looks great once assembled. However, I was disappointed with the construction and sturdiness. The product description gives the impression of a solid-wood bunk bed, but based on the actual material and construction, there appears to be very limited, if any, genuine hardwood. Much of the bed seems to be made from engineered wood, plywood, or similar composite materials rather than real solid wood. I think the material description should be much clearer and more transparent. My biggest concern is stability. The top bunk noticeably wobbles when my 5-year-old climbs onto it. For a bunk bed intended for children, I expected a much more solid and stable frame. While it looks good aesthetically, the lack of sturdiness makes me uncomfortable with the overall construction and raises concerns about long-term durability. Overall, this bed has a great design and appearance, but the materials and stability do not meet the expectations I had from the product description. I am leaving this review 4 years after making this purchase. This bunkbed has been great. It has held up well with two boys climbing all over it. It has also survived a move and is still sturdy. The under bed storage is super handy. When we first got this bed, we did end up putting a wedge pillow for the gap between the lower mattress and the wall for our little one. We discovered he was able to slip back there pretty easily when he was smaller. The top bed doesn't have that issues because of the rails.
