The drawers are soft-close and can hold quite a bit, however the drawers are not particularly deep. The granite is beautiful and since this chest is so large there is quite a bit of granite surface area. I purchased this for my office but it would look beautiful in a bedroom as well. This an attractive and solid bachelor’s chest or end table. It came remarkably well packed with styrofoam in places you wouldn’t suspect.
